This was my first trip back to Malaysia since living there in 2002-2003.  It was a lot of fun to go back as a tourist, and at a time when the country seems to be on a steady upswing.  I already miss the food.  I may have puzzled a lot of Penangites by spending an entire month in their humble city, but my wallet and my taste buds were treated very well.  In Langkawi, I tried to get better at slowing down.  Finally, my mom and I had a very focused 48 hours-in-KL itinerary with 2 meals at Lot 10’s Hutong food court, conveniently located 3 monorail stops from our hotel.
